I’m Victoria (feel free to call me Vicky) and I work in the book publishing industry as a Sales, Marketing & Publicity Assistant. I blog about books (mainly reviews) in my spare time. A little bit more about me: I am a mood reader. This makes book reviewing a little more difficult for me because I can’t plan what I’m going to read far in advance. In other words, I don’t do well with TBR lists, but I’m trying. I’ve had books on my TBR list for years that I’m only just getting to now because the mood has finally struck. I will also abandon a book halfway through because I’m no longer in the mood to read the genre, for example. It’s a struggle.

I love to bake. Cooking I find a bit harder because it takes longer and doesn’t satisfy my sweet tooth quite as much. I knit and scrapbook when I have the itch to do something with my hands. I have a constant travel bug but never the means to travel. I am a foodie. Some of my guilty-pleasure TV shows are anything on HGTV that has to do with Tiny Houses, and anything on Space that has to do with ghost hunting. I have a boyfriend who I’ve been with for seven and a half years.

At the end of the day, I just love stories and storytelling, in any form. Thanks for stopping by!

At this point I am accepting select book review proposals, and am open to any blog or author tour as long as the book interests me and meets my review criteria. You can sweeten the pot by offering a giveaway of the same book to my followers–I want to share the books I like with them, too! I will accept review copies in any form except audiobook or galley, and a physical copy is preferred. I do not review self-published work.

I will consider a review in the following categories:

• Fiction: YA; Historical; Suspense/Thriller; Mystery; Horror; anything Star Wars (I will review MG if I find the story interesting–please look at my other MG reviews to see if yours fits the bill) [favourites include The Fault in Our Stars, The Book Thief, The Detective’s Daughter, Anna and the French Kiss, The Night Strangers, Anne of Green Gables]
• Fantasy: YA; Historical; Realistic; Steampunk (I do not read High Fantasy or children’s) [favourites include The Goblin Emperor, the Harry Potter series, the Starcrossed series]
• Non-Fiction: Auto-biography/Memoir; Biography; Humour; Feminist; Self-Help on body positivity [favourites include Fat Girl Walking, The Beauty Experiment, Why Not Me?, Bad Girls Throughout History]
• Graphic Novel: YA; Contemporary; Fantasy; Horror; select Sci-Fi (please no Manga or anything with a similar artistic style) [favourites include Afar]

In your proposal, please include the title of the book, the CAD retail price, book description, and page count. Please also indicate the format of the book I will be reviewing. If there is a specific date you had in mind for the review post to go up, please indicate that as soon as possible. Please note that reviews go up according to my schedule; your book may be reviewed immediately, or it may be a few months.
